A collaboration of thoughts and feelings and experiences from Autistic and ADHD adults across the globe. Please join us if you have a story that you would like to share. Too many voices are hidden, unheard and unseen. We would like to change and challenge this. You can email me at feelingtheworlddifferently@gmail.com if you would like to contribute.
If we can explain the many ways that we feel, and see, and hear the world differently, then maybe we can help the world to understand.
To understand and then to accept without relying on the myths, the misconceptions and the misunderstanding. All of which lead to the stereotypes and stigma which blight our lives and leave us on the outside looking in. If we can illuminate our Autistic lives from the inside out then maybe many others will see themselves reflected. And hopefully those living in the shadows will no longer feel afraid to disclose. If our stories can make a difference, then maybe we can help create a society that really is friendly to autism one day soon.
How do you feel the world differently? Do you see and hear things that others can’t?
How can we describe our experiences in ways that others can understand. How can we make the unbelievable believable?
If we could write letters to people, what would we say?
Dear Healthcare. Dear Educators. Dear Psychologists. And dear family and friends.
Just another day for me. Could we describe an average day filled with the thoughts and feelings of Autistic and ADHD life?
How I feel when? Which environments and attitudes are the most debilitating? What makes you feel disordered or disabled? Do you feel discriminated against? What would we like to change? What would we like to challenge? Which attitudes and which environments.
People and places. Can we find safe spaces?
